Mother Teresa's creed

Sunday, July 19th, 2009

People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered
Forgive them anyways.

If you are kind
people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives
Be kind anyways.

If you are successful
you will win some false friends and some true enemies
Succeed anyways.

If you are honest and frank
people may cheat you
Be honest and frank anyways.

What you spend years building
someone could destroy overnight
Build anyways.

If you find serenity and happiness
they may be jealous
Be happy anyways.

The good you do today
people will often forget tomorrow
Do good anyways.

Give the world the best you have
and it may never be enough
Give the world the best you’ve got anyways.

You see, in the final analysis
it is between you and God
It was never between you and them anyways.

Mother Teresa was so right when she wrote this. When it comes down to it, you really are only accountable for your own actions. You and only you will have to answer for what you have done as well as what you failed to do. So take a look at where you are in life. Have you helped everyone you could help so far or have you been slacking and/or thinking more of yourself? Have you done any volunteer work lately? Smiled at a stranger? Said a kind word to someone that needed to hear one? There are really just a lot of little things that we can do to make this world a even better place to live. Feel free to share what you are doing to make the world just a better place in the comment section below. Have a great day!! :)

Why Must the Good Die Young?

The last few days I have been trying to figure out what I should write about on this site. It has been about a week since I posted anything. I was debating whether I should write some more about how I feel about attending Courage, about how I am concerned about certain things going on in my life or several topics I have been thinking about blogging about. The other day a friend of mine sent me an instant message with some horrible news. He informed me that his brother was killed this past weekend. It got even worst when he told me that it was his father whom killed his brother. I am not sure why this happened or about many of the details. All I really know is this is a horrific tragedy that my friend now has to go through.

So why am I writing about this? Honestly, I am not sure why I am. Maybe it is just to put all my thoughts about this out there for everyone to see. Maybe part of it has to deal with whenever I hear about things like this, it brings back memories of when my sister was killed. All I really know is writing this post is not easy for me.
