I recently saw on the USCCB website that this month is Poverty in America Awareness Month. I would just like to ask anyone that is capable to make some form of donation to a local charity that helps the poor. If you are unable to make a finical contribution to an organization, please visit my blog posting websites that are changing the world and take the time to help the poor. All the websites offer free ways for you to assist the poor, not just in the US, but all around the world. Also please pray for those that are hungry, without shelter, and for those that are in worst situations then us.

Monday, January 18th, 2010Forgiveness and Why We Must Forgive
Monday, January 11th, 2010“Forgiveness is above all a personal choice, a decision of the heart to go against the natural instinct to pay back evil with evil.” Pope John Paul II
I have writing about this topic in the past on the posting entitled “Why Must the Good Die Young?”. But I do feel it is a very important topic to cover once again. Prayers for Gay People
Thursday, January 7th, 2010I recently came across these prayers on the Ministry to Lesbian and Gay Catholics website. The Minsistry to Lesbian and Gay Catholic is an organization founded by Cardinal Roger Mahony and is based out of The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Los Angeles.
For Lesbian and Gay Catholics
Lord, you are my shepherd, the one who knows my voice, recognizes me, and calls me by my name.
You gather me up, hold me close, and feed me.
You strengthen me when I am weak, heal me when I am sick, and bind up all my wounds.
Lord, you are my shepherd, the one who refreshes my soul, invites me to the table, and welcomes me to dwell in your house.
I am your homosexual child, baptized into your flock, O Lord.
My family and I cry out to you for shepherds here on earth—your church and among ourselves—who like you know us, feed us, care for us, and invite us to your table.
Amen.
